Jefferson County opened bids for a 20-by-156-foot single-slope metal building for the Mud Lake fairgrounds and reported an apparent low bidder, Steel Concepts, at $89,007.50.
Roger, a county staff member overseeing the procurement, read the bids at a public opening and said Teton West submitted a bid of $123,769 and Steel Concepts submitted $151,653 in an earlier packet but the corrected Steel Concepts total shown as $89,007.50 made Steel Concepts the apparent low bidder. Staff cautioned that the county must review each bid for completeness, addenda and compliance before making a formal award.
Roger said staff had previously encountered a bid process where an apparent low price changed after reviewing addenda and documents. No formal award was made at the meeting; staff will return with a recommendation after document review.
