Jefferson County commissioners approve grants, purchases and personnel changes; multiple vendor purchases for sheriff's office cleared

On personnel matters, the commission approved several planning and zoning personnel actions during the same meeting: two building inspectors received step increases tied to certification and one new senior building inspector position was created. The board approved a promotion moving an employee from grade 6 step 4 to grade 8 step 1 tied to the new position. Those personnel motions passed by roll call.
