Commissioners report Idaho DOT support for intersection light and renewed study of overpass between Rigby and County Line

Commissioners told department heads they have made progress with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) on safety and capacity projects.
A commissioner reported that ITD "agreed to fund us up to $500,000 for a light on 4,800 and 4,000" (described in meeting as the Highway 48/4000 intersection), a project the board said it had requested for several years. Commissioner comments said the timing depends on equipment lead times and coordination with ITD but that the county hopes to complete the work this summer if parts are available.
The board also said it had pushed for renewed planning work on an overpass between Rigby and County Line; county staff located earlier design plans and ITD will include the overpass in future planning work. Commissioners said they have reached out to Bonneville County to coordinate the intersection work and that a joint meeting with Bonneville, ITD and county staff is being scheduled.
Commissioners noted BYU-Idaho is assisting with engineering/study work on county-line road issues and that the county is working with property owners and Bonneville County to develop a joint approach.
Ending: Commissioners said they will continue coordinating with ITD, Bonneville County and BYU-Idaho on the intersection light, overpass planning and other road studies; schedule and completion remain subject to parts availability and intergovernmental coordination.
