Agency endorses 2025 Transportation Growth Management grant application

The Columbia Gateway Urban Renewal Agency voted to endorse the City of The Dalles's 2025 Transportation Growth Management grant application and to provide a letter of support for a Westside Renaissance study. Jacob Anderson, economic development officer, said a small portion of the Westside study area lies within the agency boundary and earlier the agency supported a similar application. Anderson said the study would inform transportation design and future projects and noted the city had letters of support from partners including the school district and college. A board member moved and the board approved a motion to endorse the application and attach the agency's letter of support to the July 31 grant submittal. If funded, the grant would provide planning funds for transportation and design work to support redevelopment on the city's Westside; exact project commitments would be set once a grant agreement is executed.
