Staff said the adopted FY24‑25 budget (supplemented at the Jan. 13 council meeting) includes $300,000 in fund reserves for the purchase, and the truck price is $296,270. The purchase would provide an additional truck to speed wastewater crew operations and to support transportation/paving projects when needed.
Councilor McLaughlin moved to authorize the purchase and Councilor Richardson seconded. After brief discussion on market pricing, the council voted unanimously in favor. Councilors present voting yes included Councilor Ring, Councilor McLaughlin, Councilor Runyon, Councilor Randall, Councilor Richardson, Councilor Bridal, Councilor Wren and Mayor Mays.
Ending: Staff was authorized to complete the purchase; staff said the truck would be delivered upon payment and will retain the manufacturer's warranty.
