The Burlington Area School District board approved a routine, annual motion to adopt the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) special-education model forms, policies and procedures manual for the 2025'26 school year.

District staff explained the vote aligns the district with DPI model forms and is similar to the board's annual approval of DPI academic standards for curriculum use. The motion was presented as a procedural item and passed by roll call vote with members present voting in favor and one member absent.

Staff indicated the district will move future approvals to align with the board's July curriculum approvals to reduce duplicate scheduling.

No substantive changes to local special-education practices were made by this vote; it affirms the district will use the DPI model forms and manuals.
