The board clarified that the NEOLA language provides guidelines for committees and that forming a committee would still be a separate board decision.
Board members asked staff to annotate which policies are replacements, modifications or new and to identify items the policy committee recommended not to adopt so the full board can review those decisions at first reading. The board said it will return the full manual to the board for a first reading and will consider adopting the complete manual as a single package once the committee finishes its work.
