Overnight travel: Board members approved an overnight travel request for Elkhorn High School SkillsUSA students to attend the state competition. SkillsUSA adviser Mark Malwitz told the board the trip would be funded largely through grants and program revenues; the board approved the travel request by voice vote.
Financials and minutes: The board approved general fund and other-fund checks, wire transfers and ACH payments covering the period cited by district finance staff. Board members also approved minutes from Feb. 24 and March 4 (regular and closed session minutes) by roll-call vote in most instances; two board members recorded abstentions on at least one minutes approval vote. Personnel and programs: The board approved a written school counseling program (required by statute), and accepted personnel recommendations including internal promotions and resignations; among the personnel items, the board accepted the resignation of a staff member to take a statewide role and approved an internal candidate for an administrative post.
No motions failed during open session; the board adjourned to a contemplated closed session at the end of the meeting for an employee-performance matter under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c).
