County increases funding and extends contract with Santa Fe Recovery Center for detox services

The Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners approved Amendment No. 1 to agreement 2024-0257-CSD with Santa Fe Recovery Center, increasing compensation by $450,000 for a total not-to-exceed contract sum of $750,000 and extending the term through Dec. 9, 2026.
Alex Dominguez of Community Services explained the amendment continues social and medically managed withdrawal-management services at La Sala Center, the county’s 25-bed detox facility at 2052 Galisteo. Services are for county residents 18 and over and include coordination of transitions from La Sala and the county adult detention facility.
Dominguez said funding includes local DWI funds (alcohol excise tax administered by the New Mexico Department of Taxation and Revenue) and a $300,000 award from the DWI Grant Council; the remaining $150,000 will be encumbered in the next fiscal year to cover expenses through the contract term.
Stacy Martin of Santa Fe Recovery Center thanked the board and said the center’s expansion plans include opening services at the Warner property and that the Warner project is on track for an expected January opening for certain program components. Commissioners Adam Johnson and Lisa Kokari Stone praised the center’s partnership with the county.

Next steps: County staff will finalize the amendment, encumber awarded funds, and continue partnership with Santa Fe Recovery Center as recovery facilities expand capacity.
