Colfax County commissioners and staff discussed problems with the county’s Triadic financial and reporting system and possible migration options, including Tyler and MIP.
Commissioners and consultants said Triadic has produced unreliable reports and is functionally outdated. A county official said she had solicited quotes and background from other counties and noted that Tyler is a Sourcewell vendor and that the county is a Sourcewell member. External consultants cautioned that migrating to Tyler can be difficult unless the county secures a thorough transition plan and long‑term support: "Unless you get a really, really solid and thorough transition, and everything's set up, like, pretty much exactly the way it needs to be, a lot of municipalities and counties have a huge amount of trouble with Tyler," a consultant said.
Staff noted other systems being used elsewhere, including MIP and Workday, and said they will gather quotes and report back. Justin (county staff/consultant) said he has contacted other counties and is compiling information. No procurements or contract awards were made at the meeting; the commission directed staff to continue exploring options and to report findings.
