Legislative Council approves $65,000 renewal for Anchorage Legislative Office Building snow removal

The Legislative Council voted 11-0 on Sept. 10 to approve renewal number four of the snow-removal contract for the Anchorage Legislative Office Building, authorizing Kelly Incorporated, doing business as A1 Lawn and Landscaping, to continue providing services at a cost not to exceed $65,000. Senator Kiel moved the measure and Chair Hannon called the roll.
The renewal was presented to the council by JC Kestel, payment officer for the Legislative Affairs Agency. Kestel told the council the agency is satisfied with the contractor’s work and that “there are no price increases with the renewal.”
The motion was unopposed after an initial objection for the purpose of discussion was removed; Miss Truett then conducted the roll-call vote. The approved renewal is described in the council packet as renewal number four of the existing snow-removal contract.
The renewal keeps the existing contractor in place and does not change the contract price. No further discussion or conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes. The council moved on to district office lease renewals following the vote.
