Umatilla Planning Commission elects Ellie Noble chair, names Lyle Smith vice chair; Nancy retained as secretary

The Umatilla Planning Commission on Feb. 25 elected Commissioner Ellie Noble as chair and Commissioner Lyle Smith as vice chair and confirmed staff member Nancy to continue serving as planning commission secretary.
Commissioners moved and seconded the nominations and voted to approve both leadership appointments. Commissioners noted that the prior chair, Bruce McLean, had resigned his commission position after being elected to the city council, and Nobles had been acting in the chair role in the interim. The commission also recorded that one seat on the commission is vacant.
The planning commission secretary, Nancy, will continue to manage official minutes, agendas and meeting records, as the commission previously approved staff to serve in that function. Commissioners expressed support for the nominated officers during a brief discussion and conducted the votes without extended public testimony or deliberation.
The leadership changes are administrative and will affect meeting administration and official correspondence for the commission.
