On Sept. 2, 2025, Lewis County commissioners approved a contract to provide juvenile public defender services to the juvenile court, contracting with Albert Dickcock through Dec. 31, 2025.
Becky Butler told the commission the contract will run through the end of the year and then be put on the same cycle as other county contracts. She said the county is actively recruiting for public defender positions in superior, district and juvenile courts and has a public-service announcement posted; contract unit rates are available online.
The contract was approved as part of a group of deliberation items the board approved on a 3-0 vote.
