Planning board grants conditional‑use amendment allowing collocated adult‑use cannabis manufacturing

On Aug. 19 the Saco Planning Board granted an amendment to a previously issued conditional‑use permit that authorizes co‑location of adult‑use cannabis manufacturing at 74 Industrial Park Road (Map 71, Lot 8). The application was continued from a prior meeting; the applicant supplied a site plan and completed minor corrections requested by staff.

Board action: the board reopened the public hearing, received no public comment, adopted findings of fact and conditions of approval and approved the conditional‑use amendment (votes recorded as 5–0 with 1 abstention on the record). Staff said outstanding items from the prior review—sprinkler/service repairs and parking lot striping—were submitted in materials and would be completed as conditions of approval require.

What the board required: the conditions require completion of Fire Department items, parking lot striping and final site plan updates; the board recorded standard compliance conditions as part of the approval.

Next steps: the applicant will satisfy the stated conditions and proceed under the amended conditional use permit.
