A resident who identified herself as Christine Lincoln told the commission she was assaulted on Feb. 1 at 818 Rosedale and said responding officers and detectives treated her without urgency or empathy, leaving her feeling dismissed.
Lincoln told the commission she was taken to the hospital and expected investigators to pursue the case, but she said communications from police decreased, evidence was ignored, and she ultimately was told the DNA evidence was not enough and the case would be closed. “I cannot accept this,” she said to the commission. “I will not go away, and I will not be quiet, or just stop demanding justice until this man is arrested and held accountable.”
Lincoln asked the commission to act, saying she believed the suspect had harmed other women and could kill someone. She urged the commission to ensure the police pursue the case. The mayor asked staff to obtain additional information, and city staff (Miss Jackson) was asked to follow up directly with Lincoln to gather details and provide an update.
Commissioner Turner and others expressed appreciation for Lincoln’s willingness to speak publicly and asked staff for a confidential update on investigative status consistent with any privacy or evidentiary limits. The exchange at the meeting was public comment and a request for staff follow‑up; the commission did not receive a briefing on the case during the public meeting and no investigative details were presented to the commission at large.
