The Santa Maria Union School District board voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt a resolution confirming the sufficiency of instructional materials for 2025–26 and to approve CSBA manual maintenance policy updates.
The board opened and closed a public hearing on the sufficiency of instructional materials; staff said the resolution and lists of adopted materials were posted at each school site and on the district website for review and that no public comments were received. The item moved to action as “resolution 25.080.15 sufficiency of instructional materials 2025 to 2026” (language in the meeting record) and was approved on a 4–0 vote.
The board also approved “CSBA manual maintenance June 2025 policy updates” after trustee review; the recommendation had been reviewed in the quarterly packet over the summer. That motion passed 4–0.
Nut graf: Both actions were routine, noncontroversial items on the consent and action agendas; no public opposition or extended debate was recorded.
Board procedure and vote: For each item a motion and second were made and the board recorded unanimous votes. The public-hearing notice for instructional materials had been posted at school sites and on the district website; staff reported they received no public comments.
Ending: The board moved on to the student-data workshop after approving consent items and policy updates. Minutes will reflect the 4–0 votes on both items.
