The Friendswood Downtown Economic Development Corporation voted unanimously, 5–0, on Aug. 12 to approve updates to the downtown improvement plan that incorporate revised vision, mission and objective statements.
The updates were prepared by volunteers or staff identified in meeting remarks as Chris and Ron; the board thanked them for the work. Rebecca Ellingberg, the EDC chair, asked if there were any further comments before the vote and then called for a motion. A board member moved to approve the updates “as written”; another seconded and the board approved the change without opposition.
Aubrey and staff described the update as an administrative step “to update us, keep us moving forward, keep us aware of what we’re trying to do.” Board members had reviewed the materials in a prior workshop and the current action incorporated the workshop revisions into the plan.
There was no separate budgetary motion attached to the updates; the board’s vote was to adopt the language changes as presented.
