At the Sept. 10 Water Management Board meeting, staff updated members on work at the Johnson County Library where contractors have been placing dirt and regrading a detention area. The presenter said the town holds a permit signed by Billy Patrick and that staff have been monitoring the project.
According to the presenter, the library work is intended to reduce the slope of the detention area rather than flatten it, and staff said the site has undergone multiple attempts to correct the grading. The presenter said contractors claim the regrade “is gonna work,” and staff are watching the project to confirm performance. No formal board action was taken.
Staff also noted they have been observing contractor schedules and indicated they will follow up as needed if the regrade does not perform as intended.
