City staff provided a round of municipal project updates on Aug. 26, reporting progress on several capital improvements and a housing tax credit award.

Staff reported the water tower exterior and dry portions of the interior have been sandblasted and primed and crews are working on the wet interior; weather permitting, the contractor expects about three more weeks of work. The new senior center has advanced from foundation to near full framing; staff said the building should be dried in by mid‑September with interior work to follow and completion targeted for February–March 2026.

The 2025 street rehabilitation preconstruction meeting occurred the week of the council meeting, with construction expected to begin within 30–45 days starting at Hatton Drive and the Wyndham subdivision entrance. For the new aquatics facility, the contractor moved heavy equipment on site and expected to begin dirt work the week of the meeting; staff reiterated a projected opening by Memorial Day 2026 for the aquatics complex.

Staff also reported Lancaster Square, a proposed 50‑unit senior apartment development on a 3.5‑acre parcel north of the new senior center, received preliminary awards in the state and federal low‑income housing tax credit process; state officials selected 15 projects from 49 preliminary applications and Park City’s project was included.

Staff listed upcoming events including a microchip and vaccine clinic on Sept. 6 and a citywide garage sale weekend Sept. 27.
