Equipment and facilities: Espinagle said algae contaminated diesel tanks had taken both tractors out of service for over a month; both tractors are now repaired and running. She purchased a new grill for the Nottoway Valley Shelter and four smaller ADA-accessible grills for picnic areas using grant funds described as “grama money.” A contractor built eight new picnic tables placed at Rapp Park.
Community programs: Espinagle said the department will hold a “Cops and Bobbers” event on August 23 where local children can fish with law enforcement; a Shenandoah donut shop will provide free donuts for participating kids.
