The Michigan City Parks and Recreation Board approved two routine year‑end account transfers Thursday under resolutions 1073 and 1074 to cover expenses and reallocate funds among departmental accounts.

Resolution 1073 authorized transfers among zoo, maintenance and other parks accounts to cover items including clothing/safety equipment, medical supplies and building repairs; staff described the action as a normal year‑end adjustment when some accounts run short and others have unspent balances. Resolution 1074 made a similar transfer from the Zoo Education Fund into the maintenance fund to cover other supplies and maintenance items.

Both resolutions were presented as standard bookkeeping actions and were approved by voice vote with no public objection. Staff said board members will see additional transfers as the fiscal year closes and expenditures are reconciled.

The resolutions do not create new programs or change service levels; they move existing budgeted dollars between departmental line items to cover unanticipated or overspent categories.
