The Board of Commissioners on Sept. 2 approved resolution 280 to fund a facade-improvement grant for Woodruff & Smith Heating and Cooling, 231 Fifth Street, in the Borough of Ellwood City. Planning Director Amy McKinney said the applicant requested the maximum grant amount allowed under the borough facade program: $5,000 with a matching $5,000 contribution from the property owner. Proposed work includes painting, new doors, and lighting.
McKinney said the program steering committee reviewed and recommended the application. Commissioners voted in favor by roll call. The county will place the grant in a contract with conditions and verify completion before disbursing funds, consistent with past facade program practice.
McKinney said the packet and committee review materials are available to the public and that the work will proceed after the grant agreement is executed.
