Dr. Kelly O'Sullivan presented Lake Dallas ISD's 2024 and 2025 accountability ratings to the board Aug. 25 and framed campus improvement plans aligned with district priorities. "We have our accountability ratings in for 2024 and 2025," O'Sullivan said, noting the state released both sets of ratings on the same day and the district compared them with 2023 data.
O'Sullivan told the board the district's overall accountability rating increased since 2023, with notable gains in the "closing the gaps" domain that looks at subgroup performance. Campus presenters described targeted strategies aligned to priorities in student success, faculty and staff engagement, and family/community engagement.
High-school leaders identified Algebra I, English I and English II as priority areas after declines in some end-of-course results and said they will use common summative assessments, department alignment and CCMR (college, career, and military readiness) tracking to raise the percentage of students meeting standard and earning industry-based certifications. "Our goal for the juniors (class of 2026) is going to be 95% [CCMR]," the high-school presenter said, noting prior-year increases in CCMR measures.
Elementary and middle-school presenters emphasized weekly PLCs (professional learning communities), use of new high-quality instructional materials in math and reading, increased Falcon Time at middle school (expanded to 45 minutes), and campus coaching cycles for progress monitoring. Principals also described family-engagement plans—regular homeroom contact, newsletters, family nights and partnerships with PTA and local organizations—to raise measurable family-engagement metrics.
Board members praised the progress and encouraged board members to attend PLC meetings to see classroom collaboration first-hand. No board action was required; the presentations were informational and intended to guide implementation work during the school year.
