Nick Carroll, the county's Parks and Recreation director, updated commissioners at the Sept. 9 meeting on recent park projects in the town center. Carroll said the new pickleball courts in town are complete and drawing strong community response, and that the playground's train set at Hampshire Park has been fully installed. "I went over there last night just to see the kids and their faces...I just want to say thank you guys for believing in me and kind of what's going on in the parks and rec department," Carroll said.

Commissioners praised the department's work and encouraged ongoing programming. Carroll noted he had shared a video showing community use of the new equipment. No formal action or funding requests were made at the meeting; commissioners moved on to approve invoices and adjourn.
