Commission approves circuit clerk training budget revision after clerk reported missed line item

Commissioners reviewed a budget revision requested by the circuit clerk to correct a previously omitted training line item. The county clerk reported an update from Pam Emory, the circuit clerk, that a travel/training line had been omitted from her original request. Commissioner Brill moved to approve the resolution to revise the circuit clerk's general fund budget; Commissioner Mance seconded. The commission voted unanimously in favor and the motion passed. President Englinger and other commissioners noted the change increased the clerk's budget from about $4.65 million to about $4.88 million in the reported figures, which respondents described as roughly a 3 percent increase for that office.
