Commissioner Brill presented an engagement letter from Keyes Valuation for an appraisal of the Hampshire Health Center and asked the commission to sign the agreement at the Sept. 9 meeting. "She just asked that if we're agreeable to that, the three of us signed that engagement letter, and then she would then begin work," Brill said, referring to appraiser Kara Keyes.
Commissioner Brill said Keyes estimated an eight-day turnaround from the date she receives a signed engagement. Brill moved to sign the engagement letter "as presented" and Commissioner Mance seconded. The commission voted unanimously in favor; the clerk recorded the ayes and the motion passed.
The memo from Keyes Valuation, as summarized by Brill, described the scope of work for a real estate appraisal of the county-owned Health Center building. Commissioners noted the appraisal is a step to inform future decisions about the facility. The clerk will execute the engagement and Keyes Valuation will begin the appraisal work, with a target completion timeline of eight days after the signed engagement is received.
No additional funding action was authorized at the meeting; commissioners agreed the three signatures on the engagement letter would allow Keyes Valuation to proceed.
