Kristen Eich, the code enforcement special magistrate for the City of Deltona, found Fellowship Baptist Church of Deltona in violation for installing a new shed with electrical wiring without permits at 114 Cortland Boulevard. Lisa Nadeau, a fire safety inspector for the City of Deltona, testified that she observed the shed on Jan. 29, 2025, and subsequent reinspections through Aug. 4 found no progress toward compliance.
Why it matters: The lack of a permit for an electrical installation raises safety and code-enforcement concerns and triggers a formal compliance timeline and fines.
Details: Nadeau said corrective action is to either obtain a permit for the shed and associated electrical work or remove the shed and restore the electrical to its prior condition. On Aug. 27, the magistrate ordered the respondent to correct the violation by 4 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2025, and said a $50-per-day fine will be imposed for each day the violation continues after that date. The case file and photographs were admitted into evidence.
Procedure and next steps: The respondent was instructed to contact Nadeau to verify compliance and was advised of the right to appeal under Florida Statutes section 162.11.
