City welcomes visitor services manager and highlights Orangetober festival

City staff introduced Kristin Ross as the new Visitor Services and Events Manager for the City of Orange and invited her to address the council Sept. 9. Ross described her experience with the Houston Health Department and event programming: "I'm truly honored to stand before you guys today as the city of Orange's, visitor services and events manager for CBB. I bring with me valuable experience from the Houston Health Department... I also had the opportunity to work alongside the Mayor's Office of Special Events."
Staff also promoted the fifth annual Orangetober Festival, scheduled Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025. The Explore Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau reported the festival will include a Pumpkin Village with 10,000 pumpkins, a 5K Pumpkin Run at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, children’s activities, food vendors, and a concert headlined by Texas country artist William Clark Green. The festival organizers noted many community partners, including the Rotary Club, United Way and Texas A&M AgriLife.
Council members welcomed Ross and congratulated event organizers; no council action was required for the announcements.
