The City Council of Sutherlin voted May 12 to award the roof replacement contract for the water treatment plant to Noble Roofing for $41,000.
Public Works staff reported the project was part of ongoing plant improvements and that the plant’s roof was old and leaking. Staff said the city elected to handle the procurement itself to save the city approximately 10–15 percent versus alternative contracting methods; Noble Roofing’s bid of approximately $41,000 was the lowest responsive bid compared with others in the $50–60,000 range.
Councilors voted unanimously to award the contract. Staff did not provide the exact roof square footage during the meeting and noted further details would be available in contract documents.
The contract award authorizes staff to proceed with re-roofing the water treatment plant under the terms of the accepted bid.
