The Sutherlin City Council adopted Ordinance 1102 on May 12, amending Sutherlin Municipal Code section 13.12.036 to add or clarify requirements related to grease traps and the city’s fats, oils and grease (FOG) program.
Public Works Director Aaron Swan said the ordinance aligns the city with its FOG program and adds requirements “on the owners of these establishments to keep their grease traps in order.” He indicated the changes mirror previous reports given to council and are intended to bring the city up to date with program expectations.
The ordinance was approved on second reading with a unanimous roll-call vote. The council did not record additional public comment or amendments during the second-reading vote.
Adoption places additional duties on owners of food-service establishments to maintain grease traps consistent with the city’s FOG program and enforcement practices.
