District officials told the Williamsville Board of Education on Aug. 12 that bus routing and communications tools for the 2025–26 school year will be available before school begins and that a recent transportation survey showed a modest increase in routes.
Superintendent Dr. Brownhall said the district will use a new routing system and the myRide K–12 mobile app; busing information and assignments were expected to be available around Aug. 21. He urged parents whose children ride buses to confirm pickup and drop-off locations and to review policy 5710 for arrival and dismissal procedures.
The district will conduct an e-alert test (text, email and push) on Monday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. Families who do not receive alerts were asked to contact the parent help desk at (716) 626-8058 and to notify the help desk if they changed mobile carriers.
On the transportation survey, Brownhall told the board he would send detailed results to board members the following day. He said the district did not see a “huge reduction in the number of routes”; in fact, the district would have an increase in bus routes next year because of agency placements, agencies changing times and McKinney‑Vento transportation requirements. Board members said they viewed the survey as useful to confirm whether any changes were needed and noted that routing can be adjusted during the school year if ridership patterns change.
No formal action was taken; the items were informational with follow-up reporting to the board planned.
