Assistant Superintendent Larson introduced Anthony Jenna, reading a biography that said Jenna has eight years of administrative experience — about 5½ years as an assistant principal in Brooklyn and roughly 2½ years as principal of the Urban Assembly School of Design and Construction in Manhattan — and prior experience as a New York City Department of Education master teacher and English teacher. The administration said Jenna will begin work at Phoenix Academy and will focus on student and teacher supports.
On routine business, the board moved several agenda items to the table and approved them by 9–0 votes: a memorandum of agreement with the GTA for additional full-time-equivalent positions (GTA MOA additional FTEs), the extra-classroom activities fund transfer, and an updated yearly appointment that adds a district privacy officer. The consent agenda, which included donations to school programs, also passed without objection.
Motions were moved and seconded as shown on the agenda; all staffing and consent items passed unanimously. The board took no separate substantive discussion on the privacy-officer appointment and indicated the administration will proceed with implementation and onboarding.
