The Williamsville Central School District Board of Education voted unanimously Aug. 12 to accept the resignation of Michael Kelly, assistant superintendent of finance and management, effective Aug. 15, 2025.
Board members moved the resolution after returning from an executive session in which the resignation was discussed. “I move the adoption of the following resolution…hereby approves the resignation of Michael Kelly, assistant superintendent of finance and management to become effective as of 08/15/2025,” the motion read. The motion was made by Mr. Manna and seconded by Mr. Buellen; the board chair called the vote and the motion carried unanimously.
The action followed the board’s earlier recess into executive session “to discuss employment matters relating to particular persons.” The board did not provide additional details about the reason for Kelly’s resignation during the public session. No separate personnel discussion or amendment was recorded on the public record following the motion.
The board returned immediately to other agenda items after the vote; no public comment occurred on the resignation during the meeting’s public-expression periods.
A formal personnel record of the resignation will be maintained in board minutes and district personnel files as required by board procedure.
