The Pope County Quorum Court approved an ordinance disappropriating approximately $5,400 from the law enforcement training center fund for the sheriff’s department. Justice David Ivy introduced the item during the August 2025 meeting and moved for adoption.

"This is an appropriation for about $5,400 for the law enforcement training center to, I believe, pour concrete pad under a awning they've got there. So I move for its adoption," Justice David Ivy said. A second was recorded and the clerk read the ordinance title. During roll call all present answered yes and the ordinance was adopted.

A member of the court noted on the record that the funding was grant money. The meeting transcript does not include further technical specifications, contract details, vendor names, nor a line-by-line budget for the project.
