Warrensburg, N.Y. — County supervisors received multiple economic development updates on July 16, including recent grant applications and a loan approval to support local lodging and infrastructure projects.
Supervisor reports credited the Warren County Planning Department for helping the town of Hague apply for three grants: culvert repairs on town roads, a salt‑shed replacement, and an environmental study. Separately, Supervisor Bean said the town of Jonesburg received a $975,000 grant and referenced a $2,500,000 award that will allow sewer work with contracted partners; supervisors said those grants will reduce the county’s required contribution to the project.
County economic development staff also reported that the county’s local development corporation approved a six‑figure loan for a Saratoga‑based hotel and that county planning is pursuing Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) grants to support mountain‑to‑main‑street connections and recreation infrastructure related to an ongoing lodging and recreation strategy. A ribbon cutting was noted for RevRail at Riverside Station, which officials said will soon be operational.
The board identified continued efforts to tie lodging investments to sewer expansion and trail/recreation improvements, and planners said they expect to learn soon whether additional state grants will further offset local occupancy tax support for the project. Supervisors encouraged continued coordination between towns, the county planning department and economic development partners to leverage those grants.
The session recorded no substantive vote changing prior grant approvals at the meeting; the report was informational and several related resolutions were in the packet for consideration.
