The Criminal Justice, Public Safety, and Emergency Services Committee on July 21 approved a budget amendment to accept reimbursement from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance through the Bulletproof Vest Partnership program for ballistic vest purchases.
The motion to move the request was approved; Supervisor Frisco moved the motion and Supervisor Mayday seconded, and the motion carried.
Sheriff Sean said the department replaced 29 ballistic vests and that the Bureau of Justice Assistance provides a reimbursement payment for those purchases. He said the department would use the money to help cover costs for the department's personal protective vests.
