County pauses Ag Society contract talks pending comptroller’s draft audit findings

During the Aug. 25, 2025, meeting of the Ulster County Public Works Committee, members discussed the county’s next contract with the Ag Society. The committee’s executive team has been in contact with the Ag Society about the upcoming contract, but the county comptroller’s office has draft audit findings that are not yet finalized.
Committee members said those draft findings need to be incorporated into contract discussions before the county presents a finalized proposal to the Ag Society. “We don’t have anything yet to present to the Ag Society without incorporating whatever the comptroller’s may have,” the committee chair said. No motions were taken on the Ag Society matter during the meeting.
