The council unanimously approved two conditional use permits on May 15 to allow short‑term rentals on two adjacent vacant lots: CUP25‑007 for a new single‑family home and STR2 non‑owner occupied rental at 110 Dobie Drive (0.29 acre, maximum 8 guests, two driveway parking spaces) and CUP25‑008 for a short‑term rental at 219 Lang Drive (0.25 acre, maximum 6 guests, two driveway parking spaces).
Assistant City Manager Nathan Glacier told the council both applications were properly noticed (mailed within 200 feet and published in the Wimberley View) and that Planning and Zoning recommended approval for both at its prior meeting. No public commenters spoke at the council hearings and staff said building permits had been submitted concurrently with the CUP applications. Councilmembers asked about rainwater collection; staff and council mentioned rainwater capture as an option but no requirement was imposed.
Both motions passed without recorded opposition.
