Valencia Garcia, Addison city secretary, presented the council's annual liaison assignments at the June 10 meeting and asked the council to confirm appointments for 2025. The resolution formalizes which council members serve as liaisons to organizations that typically receive town grant funding.
The mayor announced the slate: Dan Lizzio will continue as liaison to the Addison Arbor Foundation; Howard Fried will serve as liaison to the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce; Chris DeFrancisco will be liaison to Metrocrest Services; the mayor will continue liaison duties to the North Dallas Chamber; Darren (last name not specified in the liaison discussion) will continue with the North Texas Commission; and Marlon will remain liaison to Water Tower Theater. The mayor also said he would serve as the third member of the city council community partnership committee, joining existing committee members Marlon and Chris.
Council discussion clarified that liaison assignments are prioritized for organizations receiving town grants and that other regional bodies (for example, the Regional Transportation Council) are handled through other appointment processes. Council members also discussed how Addison shares an RTC seat with the city of Richardson and that the mayor currently holds the primary RTC position.
A council member moved to approve the liaison resolution as presented; the motion received a second from Darren and Marlon and passed by voice vote.
