Superintendent Rick West told the board that the district will place a 1.5-mill sinking fund proposal on the Nov. 4 ballot, asking voters to approve the tax for 10 years to fund technology, safety and security, infrastructure and transportation needs. West said the board had approved placing the sinking fund measure on the ballot and that the administration will run an informational campaign, with documents and FAQ materials available at district buildings and online. The superintendent said there would be multiple informational sessions, including one virtual event, and that the district would engage PTOs and staff ahead of the election. The proposed sinking fund is intended to help the district manage long-term facility needs and to enable more efficient capital planning if voters approve the measure in November.
