Trustees elect Mary Petlichkoff vice president for remainder of 2025

The Dearborn Board of Education elected Trustee Mary Petlichkoff to serve as vice president of the P-12 Board and vice chairperson of the Henry Ford College Board of Trustees for the remainder of 2025.
Trustee D'Ambrosio moved to nominate Petlichkoff and Trustee Ajami seconded. On roll-call votes, Trustees Ojami, D'Ambrosio and Petlichkoff voted yes; Trustee Zahir and Board President Mozip voted no. The motion carried and Petlichkoff was declared vice president for the rest of the calendar year.
Why it matters: The vice president presides in the president's absence and serves on both the P-12 and Henry Ford College boards; the person will therefore take part in board business and committee work through year end.
Procedure: The nomination and election were done by motion and roll-call vote during the same meeting in which trustees dealt with vacancies. Trustees did not debate the nomination at length and the vote was recorded on the public roll call.
Ending: Petlichkoff will assume the vice-presidential duties immediately for the remainder of 2025.
