Winton Woods introduces new administrators, honors students and long‑time community partner

The Winton Woods City School Board opened its July 28 meeting with recognitions and introductions of new staff ahead of the 2025–26 school year.

Superintendent Denny presented the Horace Mann Fine Arts Student of the Month Award to sophomore Zaria Clark, who the superintendent described as a participant in art, choir, color guard and drama with a weighted 4.187 GPA. Denny also presented a community spirit award to Greg Shroyer for long‑running landscaping work supporting the district.

Courtney Wilson, executive director of human resources and legal affairs, introduced multiple administrative hires and promotions across the district, including: - Ashley "Maya" Johnson, assistant athletic director (North Campus alum) - Aaron Chenault, assistant principal (middle school; alternative licensure resolution later approved) - Dewey Copley, promoted from South Campus teacher to a new role supporting fifth and sixth grades - Jahquille Hargrove and Augustina Sanchez, appointed to Early Childhood Center leadership - Dr. Adonica Jones Parks, CTE coordinator (hired from charter and hospital‑based CTE roles) - Jeffrey Ryle, community engagement and communications director

Board members welcomed the new staff and encouraged community attendance at school events. The administrative appointment resolution for Aaron Chenault (alternative licensure) was moved and adopted unanimously later in the meeting.

These introductions were informational and intended to publicize new personnel to the community; multiple personnel actions (personnel schedules and an administrative appointment) were approved by unanimous vote later in the agenda.
