Staff reported township approval and tribal support for the plan; tribal representatives confirmed they favor improved cell coverage in the area.
No members of the public spoke against the proposal during the hearing. After the hearing the board adopted the reclassification resolution by voice vote; commissioners recorded no roll-call tally in the public record.
County staff said the reclassification and purchase would permit a lease to the tower company and that the project is intended to expand cellular service east of town. The county also noted state approval and township consent were already in place when the item reached the board.
The board first opened the public hearing, heard the staff explanation and public comments and then closed the hearing before voting to adopt the resolution (filed as 0822252a in the meeting packet).
