Trustees back Cardinal Land Conservancy application to preserve 35.7‑acre Hahn property

Delhi Township trustees voted on Sept. 10 to support an application by Cardinal Land Conservancy to the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund for acquisition of the Hahn property, a 35.7‑acre parcel in the southern part of the township.
Jack Stenger, director of conservation for Cardinal Land Conservancy, said the nonprofit seeks funding through Clean Ohio to acquire the property and maintain it as a nature preserve. He told trustees the conservancy is an accredited nonprofit land trust operating in eight counties in southwest Ohio and that the organization has coordinated with Western Wildlife Corridor on the project.
Trustee Davis moved to dispense with a second reading and the board adopted the resolution of support (Resolution 2025‑190). Cardinal Land Conservancy emphasized that the township’s resolution is a letter of support for the grant application and does not create a financial obligation for the township.
If the application is successful, Cardinal Land Conservancy would pursue acquisition and long‑term conservation management; the transcript records no commitment of township funds or future maintenance responsibility by the township.
