At the board meeting Deputy Superintendent Dr. Thompson and Miss Persinger presented enrollment data and explained why the district’s day‑11 counts — the state‑recognized count taken after 10 days of school — fell below recent trends. “From July 12 until the first day of school, we had 872 new applications submitted,” Miss Persinger said, adding that those applications represented “over 1,100 students” registered during that period. She attributed many delays to missing documentation and to families who did not complete the online process.
