Cohosy rolls out Yonder pouches and Securly Hall Pass; staff report calmer student interactions

Cohosy School District administrators said the district has begun a phased rollout of Yonder pouches and plans to expand the Securly Hall Pass system, and early feedback from staff has been positive. Assistant Principal Darnell Douglas described classroom and hallway observations after the initial rollout at the high school: staff reported quieter classrooms for device management and more natural student interaction in hallways. Superintendent O'Shea said multiple staff members and principals reported that the start of the year felt smoother than in previous years and that student anxiety appeared reduced where the new systems had been introduced. The district credited Laura Tarlow with research and site visits related to the Yonder rollout. Board members and staff said they plan to proceed with a “slow roll” approach to expansion so each building can set priorities and ensure clear expectations for students. District officials emphasized that different buildings may adopt systems on different schedules to suit local needs, and they said the high school will add Securly Hall Passes in stages. No disciplinary policy changes tied to the technology rollout were reported at the meeting.
