The Board of Trustees approved a letter accepting the board president’s resignation from the officer role and then elected new officers in a reorganization that began at 7:15 a.m. The motions passed by unanimous voice votes, and the board briefly recessed for an executive session before adjourning.
The board voted to accept a letter submitted to “doctor Rollo” requesting that the board president relinquish the officer title while remaining a member of the board. The motion to approve the resignation was moved, seconded and adopted 7 to 0. After the vote, trustees nominated and elected Ryan Curry as board president, Jason Ratliff as vice president and Nancy as secretary; voice votes or acclamation were recorded as 7-0 for the officer elections.
The resignation letter was described in the meeting as a formal change in office only; the speaker who submitted it said she would “maintain[] my position on the board.” The outgoing president, identified in the meeting as Beth, said she was stepping down from the presidency for work–life balance reasons: “part of being a leader, I think, is knowing when a season of life is dictating work life balance.” Beth and several trustees exchanged thanks for her service during the past year, including work on the bond election.
After the officer elections the board discussed whether to hold a closed (executive) session immediately or after the committee meeting; members agreed to hold it after the committee meeting, and the record shows the board closed for executive session at about 7:20 a.m. and reconvened at about 7:52 a.m. When the meeting returned, there was no additional public business and the meeting was adjourned.
Trustees emphasized a desire to move forward and support Dr. Rolo and her team, with one newly elected officer saying the board should focus on governance and finances for the coming months: “everybody desires to move forward,” he said. The meeting record contains no other substantive policy votes, budget actions or ordinance items.
