District launches Synergy student information system; superintendent outlines opening-day logistics

Superintendent Doctor Salzman told the Everett Public Schools board on Aug. 19 that the district's new student information system, Synergy, is live and that families will be able to view schedules through ParentVUE and StudentVUE.
"Synergy is now live," Saltzman said, noting the transition powers ParentVUE for parents and StudentVUE for students and will provide access to grades, attendance and schedules. He told the public that class schedules and teacher assignments would be available Friday evening through the new portal.
Saltzman also updated the board on opening day logistics: the first day of school is Aug. 27, and kindergarten students begin Sept. 2. He assured the public that "buses will run smoothly day one," that food service will be available in cafeterias on day one, and that secondary students would not be left in cafeterias waiting for schedules. He added that staff will be in every classroom the first morning.
Saltzman reviewed summer programming results: the district held a summer graduation with 27 students walking in a ceremony at the Civic Auditorium and concluded a three-day summer leadership program for district administrators with the theme "Every Learner, Every Voice." He thanked North Middle School for hosting and praised the district's leadership and LIDS team for work on Synergy.
Board members welcomed the new administrators introduced earlier in the meeting and thanked staff for operational preparations. Saltzman closed by wishing students and staff a successful opening day.
