Trustees also received a construction update: heavy equipment and topsoil work have begun on the approved capital project tied to a limited general‑obligation sale that staff said is scheduled to close. Staff reported the site was active within days of final approval and that the district expects encumbered capital funds to pay for the ongoing project.
The board’s 2025–26 goals — anchored to the district strategic plan — were presented and posted publicly. The board adopted three high‑level priorities shared during the meeting: academic excellence (multiple measures of mastery), preparation for life (career exploration and skills pathways) and systems to support those goals. Board members emphasized aligning building‑level work and communications with those goals so staff and community can track progress.
Other procedural approvals in the meeting included updated policy 41.30 on Title I parent and family engagement, an ESD 113 network support interlocal agreement, and hiring approvals for special‑services contracts.
