MPO bylaws revision work continues; committee invites additional members and solicitor review completed

Matt (Committee member) reported Sept. 10 that the MPO has been revising its bylaws and that the proposed changes presented at the June meeting drew substantial input. He said TAC discussed the revisions in August and that further feedback led to tabling some itemized membership changes for additional review.
Matt said staff forwarded the draft bylaws to the county solicitor for legal review and that the subcommittee solicits more members and input from the coordinating committee. He listed original subcommittee participants — Matt, Mike Baker, Brandon Leach — and said additional outreach brought Anna at the port and Marcus from West (unnamed agency) into discussions. Matt invited any committee members interested in joining the bylaws subcommittee to notify staff so a meeting can be scheduled.
Tim (Chair) urged members to accommodate one more subcommittee meeting in the fall to ensure additional viewpoints are represented. Matt said the subcommittee will incorporate new input and return alternative proposals for committee consideration. No formal coordinating committee vote on the bylaws occurred at the Sept. 10 meeting; the item remains under review and will return to committee after legal comments and additional subcommittee work.
